If Vogue World had included a racing era and I curated the looks

(This content dates back from June but I thought it deserved its spot on the blog)

For the 3rd edition of Vogue World, Vogue decided to take on Paris ahead of the Olympic Games. Iconic designers from France and around the world were asked to (re)create looks to fit eras and sports, Vogue also invited athletes (Serena & Venus Williams, Victor Wembanyama, Miles Chamley-Watson...) to walk the runway and artists to perform during the show.

For reference the program of Vogue World was:

  • opening

  • 1920s: cycling

  • 1930s: track and field

  • 1940s: aquatics

  • 1950s: equestrian

  • 1960s: fencing

  • 1970s: gymnastics

  • 1980s: martial arts

  • 1990s: football

  • 2000s: tennis

  • 2010s: breakdancing

So what if we added 2020s: racing?

Models would walk the runway and some of them would be carried on iconic sports cars, motorbikes etc.

Now onto my favorite part, the lewkssss. I would have included some CHANEL Cruise 2022/23 looks and accessories:

Dior FW22 Ready to Wear looks :

and other looks I love from David Koma, Casablanca, Lamarque, Marni...

Obviously there's so many drivers to pick from to model the clothes. I would pick Bianca Bustamante, Lewis Hamilton, Zhou Guanyu, Lola Lovinfosse, Pierre Gasly or Sophia Floersch as they've shown interest in fashion before.

What do you think? Which look would you add?
